Mobi Breaking Point with Free MOBI EDITION!

I almost didn't buy this book because, in my arrogance, I thought I knew this story. I mean, I'm a dyed-in-the-wool veteran true crime fan. I was glued to my TV when CourtTV still was broadcasting trials live and the Andrea Yeats case was frontpage news across the country. However, I ALWAYS felt that Andrea's husband, Rusty Yeats, HAD to have had a bigger role in the death of those five beautiful children so I bought the book hoping to get some insight into that aspect of the story. And I did.Andrea Yeats was failed... by her parents, by her husband and perhaps most egregiously, by the medical community. As for Rusty... what kind of a supposedly brillient, loving husband, asks his wife to totally subjugate herself to him, and to some extent to their children? As I said, I thought I knew the story. I did NOT know that until shortly before Andrea reached her "Breaking Point" she had been living in a renovated Greyhound bus (350 square feet) with four children under 5 and she even told someone what a great husband she had because he watched the kids a couple of hours a week so she could go do the grocery shopping!! What a guy! Andrea asked for help. Once when she called Rusty for help he came home from work and took her an the kids for a walk beside the water. "Andrea always liked water."Between the stress of her living arrangements, general isolation (virtually no adult interaction), predisposition to depression, and the influence of a religious fanatic that I still don't know how to categorize, it's a wonder to me Andrea didn't experience a meltdown much sooner.The author did a good job of gathering the facts and, for the most part, resisting the temptation to include every bit of minutia that she found in her research. The writing flows well and paints a picture much more clear than I, at least, had been able to see from watching and reading at the time.
